Refining adsorption parameters of n-butyl alcohol at the interface of mercury electrode with aqueous NaF and Na2SO4 solutions by correcting the adsorbate concentration

As an adjunct to the regression analysis of differential capacitance curves, which allows refining the adsorption parameters, a program, which takes into account possible errors in volume concentrations of organic substances, is developed. Using this procedure, the earlier data on the differential capacitance of a mercury electrode in aqueous solutions of normal butanol (1-BuOH) containing either 0.1 M NaF or 0.05 and 0.5 M Na₂SO₄ as the supporting electrolyte are analyzed. This allows obtaining the most accurate values of adsorption parameters for the systems mentioned above within the framework of the model of two parallel capacitors and the Frumkin isotherm. It is shown that, when a linear dependence of the intermolecular interaction parameter on the electrode potential is taken into account, the standard deviation of experimental capacitance values from those calculated using the mentioned model is 6.8–8.8%, which points to very high accuracy of this phenomenological model.     

Analysis to obtain precise density fluctuation of supercritical fluids by small-angle X-ray scattering

A procedure of analysis for small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) data has been established to obtain density fluctuation of supercritical fluids near the critical point. It is indispensable for the certain analysis to utilize both of high-quality SAXS data measured under stable thermodynamic condition and accurate P–ρ–T data in supercritical region. As a standard example, SAXS measurements have been performed for supercritical CO₂, which is a suitable sample satisfying the condition for both experiment and analysis. The measurements were carried out along four isothermal conditions at reduced temperature of T_r = T/T_c = 1.020, 1.022, 1.043 and 1.064. Comparing the experimental density fluctuation with calculated one from the most reliable equation of state, the differences are within 8% at most.     

流动注射在线液—液萃取原子吸收光谱法测定生物样品中的铅

本文利用所设计的一种新型流动注射液－液萃取重力分相器，建立了流动注射液溶剂萃取原子吸收光谱法测定铅的新方法，详细地研究了流动注射在线萃取的实验条件及流路系统，方法的精密度和检出限分别为２．５％（ｎ＝１１）和２．８μｇ／Ｌ（ｋ＝３）。用拟定的方法测定了峰蛹，粮食等生物样品中的铅，结果与参考值相吻合。     

活性酚醛树脂中羟甲基含量的测定

本文提出一种酚醛树脂中羟甲基含量的化学分析法，分别以＾１３ＣＮＭＲ和化学分析法测定酚醛树脂的羟甲基含量。将两种测试结果与已知的投料量进行比较，证明所建立的化学分析法可行。     

On-line analysis of polymer melt processes

Molten polymer process streams are difficult to analyze either in- or on-line because of sampling problems due to the high temperature and viscosity of the molten state. Real-time monitoring of chemical compositions in these processes can significantly improve safety and product quality and minimize process costs and waste. The information content of the mid-infrared spectrum combined with the recent development of rugged process Fourier transform (FT) IR spectrometers is stimulating the application of process FT-IR to industrial polymer melt processes. Sampling considerations for polymer melts are reviewed. Also, the use of FT-IR spectrometry for on-line measurements of the polymer composition for polymer blends and copolymers in the melt, and the question of how this information could be used to monitor and control the quality of the product given by the process are discussed.     

Esterification of C1−C8 carboxylic acids to n-butyl esters in aqueous solutions for their gas chromatographic analysis

Summary The esterification of C₁–C₈ fatty acid in aqueous solutions and in the presence of sulfuric or hydrochloric acid and with n-butanol is described. It has been established that the esterification can be used for the quantitative determination of these fatty acids in the concentration ratio range of [H₂O]/[n-BuOH]=0.01–5.3. In the concentration ratio range of 0.01–0.8 the water present does not interfere. In the concentration range of above 0.8 anhydrous sodium sulfate is used for binding the water, in the amount of [Na₂SO₄.anh.]/[H₂O]0.2.     

Synthesis of 1,2,4-substituted hexahydropyridazines and X-ray structural investigation of 4-hydroxyimino-2-methyl-1-phenethylhexahydropyridazine

A series of new 1,2,4-substituted hexahydropyridazines was prepared in order to evaluate qualitatively and quantitatively the role and influence of substituents on the biological activity of this system. An X-ray structural investigation of 4-hydroxyimino-2-methyl-1-phenethylhexahydropyridazine was performed. The compounds considered exhibit moderate local anesthetic, antihistaminic, and anticonvulsive activity.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. Image analysis in the electron microscopy of cellulose protofibrils II. Digital correlation methods

Electron micrographs of parallel arrays of negatively stained ramie cellulose protofibrils were analyzed using the two-dimensional digital autocorrelation function (ACF). The method is based upon the statistical analysis of images in real space. The ACF shows strong parallel streaks of high correlation, and the lateral distance between adjacent streaks allows the mean interfibrillar distance to be estimated as 3.7 nm. The intensity profile along the streaks shows a weak modulation with peaks occurring at integral multiples of 3 or 6 nm. These results provide direct evidence that there is a regular axial texture in the protofibrils, and corroborate the conclusions previously drawn from optical diffraction analysis. Using the difference vectors found in the ACF it has been possible to reduce the picture noise level by linear integration, thereby obtaining an enhanced image. A preliminary result obtained in this way suggests that the projected protofibril morphology associated with the observed axial periodicity is a ribbon-like zigzag structure. Possible applications of the method for future work are discussed.     

马来酸酐与二苄基马来酸酯共存体系的荧光分析法研究

本实验测定了二苄基马来酸酯甲醇溶液的荧光光谱，并发现马来酸酐对该荧光体系有猝灭作用，通过对不同马来酸酐浓度与各种浓度的二苄基马来酸酯甲醇溶液在４００ｎｍ处荧光强度数据的分析，发现马来酸酐的浓度与荧光猝灭程度在一定范围内呈良好的线型关系。据此，提出了用荧光猝灭法对马来酸酐及二苄基马来酸酯的定量分析     

Gas chromatographic system equipped with a mass detector and a selective nitrogen-phosphorous detector operating simulataneously in the analysis of pesticide residues

The possibility to perform gas chromatographic analysis using both a mass detector and a selective nitrogen-phosphorous detector will enable highly sensitive analytical results and an optimal identification reliability. In this work we describe an easily workable technical solution, which has been accomplished in our laboratory and the application of the above system to analytical procedures for the detection and determination of nitrogenous herbicides in drinking water and phosphorylated pesticides in agricultural products is discussed.
